The startup is leveraging these funds to expand its current team from 26 to 40 members, emphasizing key areas such as product development and go-to-market strategies. The overarching goal is to refine its app and introduce better event suggestions tailored to user preferences, thus enriching the overall experience for its community.
Posh currently boasts a user base of 2 million registered users and has facilitated $95 million worth of lifetime experiences through its platform. Interestingly, Posh’s strategy mimics the popular format employed by TikTok, featuring a vertical-scrolling interface that suggests events to users based on their interests and connections. Since its app debut to consumers last October, Posh has seen a significant uptick in app-based ticket orders, aiming to capture 25% of its ticket sales directly from the app by year’s end. Posh has rolled out a feature enabling users to import their contact books to see which friends are also on the platform.
In addition to nightlife and social events, Posh aims to cover fitness, arts, and culinary events, giving users a wider range of options. The company also nurtures a community of event organizers through tutorials and hosted events, facilitating a supportive environment for creators. Posh applies a 10% + $0.99 fee per ticket sold while ensuring no charges for organizers, balancing profitability and growth. By concentrating on personalization and tapping into different event genres, Posh is poised to transform how people experience and connect through small events.
