As anticipation builds for the upcoming Elden Ring expansion, "Shadow of the Erdtree," fans can expect a colossal addition to the already expansive world. With a new map surpassing the size of Limgrave and over 10 new formidable bosses, the expansion stakes its claim as the largest FromSoftware has crafted. However, regarding its possible conclusions, director Hidetaka Miyazaki has indicated that while there will be multiple endings, the number will not reach the variety found in the original game.
In an interview highlighted by MP1st with the Chinese outlet Zhuanlan-zhihu, Miyazaki shared insights into the narrative structure of the expansion. Unlike the base game, which offered six distinct endings, "Shadow of the Erdtree" will feature fewer conclusions, though important decisions will still play a critical role in shaping the player's journey. Additionally, Miyazaki assured that the storylines between the expansion and the main game will not intertwine, allowing for an independent narrative experience.
The highly anticipated expansion, "Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree," is set to launch on June 21 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, with a price tag of $39.99. Declared as the sole expansion for Elden Ring, it marks a significant addition to the lore, though FromSoftware has not dismissed the possibility of a sequel in the future.
