Eagerly awaiting the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on November 10, Activision has shed light on the complete PC system requirements, unique features specific to PC, and details about preloading – confirming that this feature will indeed be accessible.
The game fully launches on November 10, but Steam and Battle.net allow gamers to delve into the campaign as early as a week prior with a pre-purchase. This enables the "campaign early access" preloading starting from 9 a.m. PT or 12 p.m. ET on November 1, with the campaign beginning on November 2.
Those who choose not to pre-purchase or solely prefer the multiplayer mode can start the regular preloading on November 8 at the same time. The grand launch, inclusive of both the campaign and multiplayer components, is set for 9 p.m. PT on November 10, which translates to 12 a.m. ET on November 11.
Sporting more than 500 settings, the PC rendition of Modern Warfare 3 offers unprecedented customization flexibility, a key attraction of PC gaming. It also endorses DLSS 3 on GeForce RTX 40-series graphics cards and Nvidia's Reflex technology, aimed at reducing latency and enhancing the smoothness and responsiveness of gameplay, a feature seen previously in titles like Warzone and the Modern Warfare reboot in 2020.
In terms of game performance requirements, the minimum specifications include an Intel Core i5 6600 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400, 8GB RAM, a video card equivalent to Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 / GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 470, and SSD space of 149GB (78GB if COD HQ and Warzone are already installed). Recommended specs raise the bar with an Intel Core i7 6700K CPU, 16GB RAM, a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti / RTX 3060 or AMD Radeon RX 6600XT graphics card, again with 149GB SSD space.
For an elevated experience or Ultra 4k gaming, requirements include an Intel Core i7 8700K or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X CPU, 16GB RAM, a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 / RTX 4070 or AMD Radeon RX 6800XT graphics, and up to 64GB for Hi-Rez Assets Cache.
For those focusing on multiplayer mode and skipping the campaign and Warzone, the GPU and RAM requirements stay at the minimum level, but lower-spec CPUs like the Intel Core i3-6100 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 are sufficient. This option also necessitates only 79GB of total space for MW3 multiplayer and the mandatory Call of Duty HQ.
